Weddings are an emotional time for all people involved. There are tears of happiness of new beginnings and sadness of leaving your old life behind (for the better, though!) In this case, this fairytale wedding took a bizarre turn when the groom’s vows got extremely strange.
An Emotional Wedding Day
Most wedding ceremonies involve a lot of tears and smiles. It’s always a joyous event that brings two sides of a family together. When Jefferson and Jessica got married, this was no different. The couple even prepared their own vows as a true commitment to each other. They kept it a secret until the day of their wedding.
Special Vows
The couple had been working over their speeches for months. They both agreed that it was one of the most important aspects to their wedding and they wanted the moment to be perfect. They trusted one another to deliver the best speech imaginable, so neither of them told each other what they were going to say. It was going to be an adorable surprise.
Planning a Spectacular Ceremony
They worked hard on making the ceremony perfect. They rented a huge space in order to fit both of their huge families. It was decked out with white cloth draping and flowers hanging from the ceiling. It looked like a fairytale. It was the perfect scene, but no one had any clue what was going to happen in this wonderland…
Things Were Good!
Jessica made sure everything would go smoothly. And it was! All of the bridesmaids looked beautiful, her dress was perfect and everything went according to plan. The guests, especially the ones that flew in from overseas, got to the venue smoothly as well. It was an almost too perfect day. Naturally, she had no idea what was actually going to transpire in just a few hours…
It’s Starting
The ceremony began. The bridesmaids made their way down the beautifully decorated aisle, and Jessica was led down by her father. She met with Jefferson at the altar, eyes sparkling at each other. It was finally time for the vows. The officiant passed the microphone (yes, microphone, it was a huge venue!) to Jessica for her vows.

Jessica spoke beautiful words about their relationship over the years. The crowd and Jefferson were brought to tears through her beautiful speech. She finished with tears in her eyes and passed the microphone to her soon-to-be husband who had an emotional speech of his own.
The Grooms Turn
When Jefferson began to speak, it started off normally. His face, full of emotion, described Jessica and how wonderful and beautiful she was. The two looked like what dreams are made of up on that flower covered altar. Many guests even noticed that his hands were shaking, but not for the reason they thought…
Is This Normal?
As Jefferson began to read his vows, it started off generally normal. As it progressed, his words began to ring different. The bride and the guests instantly recognized that this speech was going in a different direction.
Someone Else?
The video continues, focusing on Jefferson’s facial expressions and body language. It’s obvious that he feels a bit… off. He grows visibly more and more nervous and then he blurts out that he has something to confess. He loves someone else in the room.

A pit grew in Jessica’s stomach. She thought he was the one… That they were soul mates. What does he mean, what was going on? She had no idea what was going through his brain or what he even meant. Â

The air in the room grew uncomfortable. Jefferson looked up and around the room, his eyes were obviously searching for that someone else. He said someone else had his heart.

Jefferson was still looking at the crowd and noticeably not at his to-be wife. After a long silence, he said that this person was close to the bride. The room was dead silent. No one knew what to do, not even Jessica. Should they let him keep talking? Is this a joke? Or was this something that was going to be a horrible disaster?
Bumps In The Road
On the surface, they seemed to have a loving and caring relationship. But their close family friends can admit that they had some heavy discourse in their relationship. For example, when the two began to date, there was another huge factor in their relationship. It was a make or break kind of deal.
Make or Break
This particular factor helped determine what kind of relationship they would have, and if it would last. Needless to say, from the very start, it was never just Jessica and Jefferson.
It’s Her…
After what seemed like hours of silence, Jefferson finally began to speak again on the other person whom he loved and held in his heart. Her name was Giovana, and she was indeed at the wedding.
His Other Love
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they realized who this mystery person was. Giovana was Jessica’s daughter from a past relationship. Jefferson would soon be her stepfather. He knew that in order to vow his love and life to Jessica, he had to do the same for Giovana.
A New Start
Giovana walked up to the bride and groom as she was beckoned forth by her soon-to-be stepfather. He knelt down in front of her and smiled, continuing his speech. He started listing all of the little things that she does to adorably annoy him, like poking him when he’s not looking or sneaking bites of his food.
Make Life Easier
His love for these two girls were endless, and he wanted to make sure that they knew that. These two didn’t have the easiest life. Things got hard when Jessica got pregnant with Giovana and the father left. Jessica was forced to be a single mother, which was as tough was it was rewarding. Jefferson stepped him at the perfect time and made sure that these two were safe.
Relief
Jessica, meanwhile, has been standing on the sidelines, wiping away her tears. She was relieved that Jefferson’s little stunt didn’t end in their break up, but something the total opposite. Jefferson promised Giovana that he would look after her and love her if she would like to be his daughter.
Emotional Words
Jefferson says that he loves Giovana as if she were his own. He mentions loving her, protecting her, and doing his best to make her the happiest little girl in the world. There isn’t a dry eye in the room.
True Love
As Jessica and Giovana both wipe their tears away, Jefferson too begins to cry. As he looks at her and she looks at him, he finishes the speech with an, “I love you.”
Giovana Has Some Words, Too
After Jefferson was finished, he offered the microphone to Giovana. She, too, had some heartwarming things to say about her new family. She claimed that even though Jefferson is not her biological father, he is a “father of heart.”
Adorable Moment
The two hugged as the guests roared in applause. This special ceremony took a turn for the impossibly better, after maybe getting a little scary for a few minutes!
