It’s really not a good day, week, month, year… to be Chicago Bear’s kicker, Cody Parkey.
In the NFC Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cody Parkey’s game-winning 43-yard field goal attempt struck the left upright, then the crossbar, and fell to the ground, deeming it no good.

Chicago fans stared in disbelief after a season where Parkey was plagued with 6 missed field goals and extra points due to hitting the uprights.
But in a small glimmer of hope for Parkey, Eagles fans are sending the kicker “thank you” money via Venmo for missing the kick, sending the Eagles to the next round of the playoffs to face Drew Brees the #1 seed New Orleans Saints.

Laces Out Show tweeted a small glimpse into just how many payments Cody has received, and it leaves us wondering just how much of a Venmo balance Parkey is carrying, although, something tells us he would give it all back to have made that last kick.
In the end, though, Parkey was successful on 3/4 field goals this game, earning 9 points for his team. The Bear’s offense, however, only managed to put up 6 points against the Eagle’s solid defensive attack. Overall, this was a team loss for Chicago that has them hanging up their cleats and pads for the season.
There’s always next year!
